Day18-19-Singapore

semi-overcast 32 °C

Wed-Travel day, with a midday flight to Singapore, arrival about 5.30pm.
First impressions of a very green, tropical city. Even our hotel is draped in vines & greenery. Quite spectacular!
After a swim in the pool, walked into Chinatown which is nearby, & had dinner.

Oasia Downtown Hotel

Thursday-Swim first thing, then breakfast in the local area. Had booked a free tour through Baba House, which is an example of ancestral home of a traditional Straits Chinese family. Really well restored by the University as original as possible, & we all thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

In the afternoon, caught the Hop-on-hop-off bus for a couple of hours to get to know the city.
Afternoon swim, then MRT(train) to Gardens By The Bay. Walked through both domes , then timed it perfectly to be on the Skyway during the 'Garden Rhapsody' light show. Amazing spectacle, day & night!
Dinner in Chinatown again (last one for Lyn & Bill).
